In its third 2026 public meeting (March 4), The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) approved the Collegiate Board Resolution that enacts a strategic update in the health control of foreign trade.

Opening the meeting, director-president Leandro Safatle gave a brief account of the two international missions in which the Agency took part recently to India and South Korea. According to him, the actions provided concrete results, with the signing of documents to expand technical cooperation with the Asian countries.

“Those missions reflect Anvisa’s commitment to keep a solid international presence guided by cooperation, transparency, and the constant pursuit of regulatory excellence,” he said. According to Safatle, by investing in “bridges” between regulators we are expanding public access to safe and effective products and strengthening the capacity to respond to health emergencies.

Foreign Trade Operations

The resolution approved this Wednesday (March 4) updates the procedures for foreign trade operations, especially operations regarding substances and products under strict control. The new rules change the current regulation (RDC 977/2025), providing more accuracy in the monitoring of controlled substances and in inspection procedures.

According to director Thiago Campos, rapporteur for the proposal, the changes will help to avoid the diversion of sensitive substances and will ensure that imported products (such as pharmaceutical inputs and biological medicines) reach the Brazilian market in compliance with rigorous safety standards
