Anvisa repealed regulations concerning the entry of travellers, adopted during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In addition to the repealed norms, the validity of Resolution RDC 456/2020 expired.

The Brazilian National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) announces to companies and representatives of the port sector the repeal of Resolutions (RDCs) 754 and 759, enacted in 2022.

Both Resolutions established important health measures that were adopted during the Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) due to the Sars-CoV-2 pandemic. The measures targeted port operations, as well as boarding and disembarking on cruise ships, cargo vessels and platforms.

The decision to repeal the above-mentioned norms was enacted by the Agency’s Collegiate Board of Directors (Dicol), last May 10th. The formal repeal was officially published in the Federal Official Gazette (D.O.U.) on May 15, with the enforcement of RDC 789/2023.

It is also important to mention the end of RDC 456/2020 validity, concerning the adoption of measures at airports and aircraft due to the Public Health Emergency of National Importance (PHENC) caused by the new coronavirus. According to article 27 of that norm, the rules expired on May 21, according to alterations contained in RDC 684/2022. Therefore, Resolution RDC 456/2020 has automatically lost its validity, producing no more effects.
