Anvisa receives representatives from US business entities

- Visit from US Business Entities
Last Tuesday (April 28), the Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (Anvisa) received representatives from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Brazil-U.S. Business Council. The Agency's chairman, Leandro Safatle, highlighted the importance of the discussions about strategic issues for the business environment, innovation, and public health.
During the meeting, dialogs focused on the plan to reduce the waiting lists for medicines and medical devices, as well as strengthening Anvisa's institutional capacity and regulatory efficiency. "We are addressing the issue of waiting lists to provide more predictability for those who make investments," said Safatle.
The chairman also mentioned other areas, such as Anvisa's Innovation Committee, created to monitor and evaluate innovative products and technologies, which are considered priorities for public health in Brazil. The initiative is aligned with the strategies related to the New Brazil Industry and the Economic and Industrial Health Complex, which aim to reduce vulnerabilities in the Brazilian Public Unified Health System (SUS), to strengthen national production, and to stimulate research and development.
Business relevance in the Brazilian market
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the largest business entity in the United States, together with the Brazil U.S. Business Council, convenes American companies with a significant presence in the Brazilian market in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, food and beverages, technology, logistics, energy, and industrialized products.
