Anvisa and US Pharmacopeia ratify agreement for technical and scientific cooperation
Anvisa and the US Pharmacopeia ratify Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation.
The Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (Anvisa) and the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) ratified on Monday (March 23) a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two institutions, which aims to strengthen institutional relations and to promote cooperation in activities in the health scientific areas.
The agreement was signed by Anvisa's chairman, Leandro Safatle, and the the US Pharmacopeia CEO, Ronald T. Piervicenzi.
During the meeting, Safatle highlighted the importance of the partnership, which has recently produced successful results, such as the collaboration in obtaining standard kits of methyl alcohol to assist laboratory analyses during the methanol crisis. "The partnership has also been important for training and technical exchange with Anvisa staff," added the chairman.
The collaboration between Anvisa and USP began in 2016 and comprises different areas, such as technical and scientific assistance, as well as the organization of scientific events, seminars, conferences, meetings, and workshops, among others.
