WIM for weight enforcement will be the topic of ANTT Webinar

The National Land Transportation Agency (ANTT), LabTrans and the International Society for Weigh-In-Motion (ISWIM) will hold a webinar on the global and national applications of Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) systems for size and weight enforcement. The event will be held online via Microsoft Teams for participants and will take place on October 30, beginning at 9 AM (Brasilia Time). There will also be a live broadcast on YouTube for the general public.
The main objectives of the webinar include discussing the global applications of WIM, providing updates to participants on the use of Weigh-In-Motion systems for size and weight enforcement worldwide, with a special emphasis on the recent adoption of WIM for direct and automatic enforcement. Additionally, the event will explain the Brazilian context, discussing the current status of WIM systems in Brazil and outlining future plans to implement these systems to enhance weight enforcement capabilities.
Over the years, ANTT, LabTrans, and ISWIM have organized several successful events in Brazil focused on the use of WIM systems for weight enforcement, such as the 2011 WIM Regional Seminar in Florianópolis and the 2019 ANTT Workshop on "New Paradigms of WIM" in Brasília. These meetings brought together national and international experts who presented the latest developments in the use of WIM systems.
Since the last event in 2019, WIM technology has advanced significantly, especially regarding sensors and their applications for size and weight enforcement. Now, in late 2024, discussions will resume to update participants and focus on the latest innovations available.
