Suframa Agricultural District (DAS)

Agriculture and livestock farming are an integral part of the Manaus Free Trade Zone model, through the Suframa Agricultural District (DAS). Located north of Manaus, the DAS has large areas designated for agricultural and agro-industrial projects under the administration of Suframa.
With a total area of 589,334 hectares belonging to the cities of Manaus and Rio Preto da Eva, in Amazonas, the DAS includes both properties cultivated by family units for their own consumption, with diversified subsistence crops, and medium and large-scale enterprises, producing in a business-like manner, with large planted areas and the use of equipment for soil fertilization, spraying, harvesting, product washing and packaging for commercialization.
With 656.6 km of secondary roads recognized by Suframa, according to Suframa Ordinance No. 103 of March 2, 2022 , its area is crossed in a North/South direction by the BR-174 highway and partly in an East/West direction by the AM-010 highway (Manaus – Itacoatiara). Agricultural activities also extend to the Industrial District Expansion Area - AEDI, which forms a green belt in the city of Manaus, focused on raising poultry, pigs and cattle, as well as ventures focused on fish farming, wood processing and, mainly, horticulture.
