Press professionals interested in covering President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s participation in the general debate and high-level meetings of the United Nations 79th General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, scheduled for September 22 to 25, 2024, must submit the electronic form for accreditation by September 17 at 8 pm (Brasilia time):

The form data will be recorded with the exclusive goal of allowing coordination between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Press Office (AIG) and the Brazil’s Presidency Social Communication Secretariat and the press professionals during the trip and, if necessary, may be shared with local authorities.

For media coverage of the general debate and high-level meetings of the 79th UN General Assembly, please recall that a specific accreditation process was required by August 30, 2024, through the UN’s Media Accreditation and Liaison Unit (MALU), as reiterated in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Press Release issued on August 28.

It is recommended to check with the U.S. Embassy or Consulates for up-to-date information on immigration regulations, current health requirements, and customs procedures for entering journalistic equipment into the United States.
