New transformative agreement: CAPES and Wiley Publishing House
The transformative agreements are projected to facilitate the transition to the signature access to the Open Access model. Through these agreements, the payment of the processing taxes for the publication of scientific articles of Brazilian authors will take place from the contracts signed by CAPES with international scientific publishing houses. The objective is to give visibility and promote the access to national scientific and technologic production, beyond assuring equality of opportunities among scientists and guarantee the disclosure of quality research accomplished in Brazil.
Recently, CAPES signed a contract with the publishing house Wiley, which is going to allow students, professors and researchers that integrate the Journal Portal, to consult more than a thousand scientific magazines. The agreements also guarantee to the academic community the unlimited publication of open access articles on hybrid journals of Wiley.
As INPE is affiliated to CAPES, the authors of the Institute (researchers, technologists and students) can publish open access articles without cost, in any hybrid journal of Wiley, just as it already happens with the journals of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers Incorporated (IEEE) and of the American Chemical Society (ACS).
While choosing the open access, the article is going to be available for free so that everyone can read, download and share.
