Brazilian Journals in the Field of International Relations
Given the large number of academic journals in the field of International Relations, it is important to rely on classification methods that help guide researchers and students. In Brazil, a useful reference is the Qualis Journals classification system, developed by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), for the field of Political Science and International Relations. This system categorizes journals into tiers, organized in descending order of relevance, in which journals classified in the A1 group are considered the most prestigious.

The journal Cadernos de Política Exterior, edited by IPRI and published by the Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation (FUNAG), is classified as A4 in CAPES’ unified Qualis system (2017–2020).
