FUNAG relaunches facsimile edition of "Annaes do Itamaraty"

In 1932, on the initiative of Foreign Minister José Carlos Macedo Soares, began the series of publications of the Annaes do Itamaraty [Annals of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs]. Up to 1942, when they ended, seven volumes were published, out of which six are part of the facsimile edition now relaunched by the Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation. The objective of the Annaes was to publicize documents from the Historic Collection of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs relative to the initial decades of the diplomatic relations in the region surrounding the La Plata Basin, especially the period of the Ragamuffin War.

With a foreword by Ambassador Gelson Fonseca Jr., this edition is part of the “Bicentennial: Brazil 200 years – 1822-2022” collection, and is available free of charge on FUNAG’s digital library .
