FUNAG publishes book about the Viscount of Uruguay

The Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation has just released the book “Fazermos-nos fortes, importantes e conhecidos” – O Visconde do Uruguai e o Direito das Gentes na América (1849-1865) [“Making ourselves strong, important and known” – The Viscount of Uruguay and the Rights of the People in America (1849-1865)], by professor and researcher Pedro Gustavo Aubert. 

The book provides a complete and unprecedented analysis of the Viscount of Uruguay’s reflections and deeds in foreign affairs between 1849 and 1865, as well as making an important contribution to studies into the history of Brazilian foreign policy.
