The Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation has launched the book A Era Berlusconi: A força da direita na Itália e o relacionamento bilateral com o Brasil [The Berlusconi Era: The power of the right in Italy and the bilateral relationship with Brazil], by Brazilian diplomat Fernando Figueira de Mello.

Historically, the work aims to understand the resurgence of the field of action of the right in the Italian contemporary government and society under Silvio Berlusconi administration from 1993, when he became prime minister. The author seeks not only to identify the bilateral relationship pattern practiced by Brazil and Italy, but also to identify the possible impact of migration policies on the Brazilian community.

The book is available in Portuguese for free download on FUNAG’s digital library. The printed version will be available soon at the Online Store.
