FUNAG launches book about the legacy of Antônio Augusto Cançado Trindade
FUNAG publishes “A obra e o legado de Cançado Trindade” [The Work and Legacy of Cançado Trindade], edited by Sérgio E. Moreira Lima, Paulo B. Casella, and Carlos H. Perini Miranda.
The book highlights the intellectual and institutional trajectory of Antônio Augusto Cançado Trindade, recognising Brazil's innovative contribution to the humanisation of jus gentium and the affirmation of the individual and humanity as subjects of international law. The work addresses central themes of the contemporary multilateral system, such as human rights, protection of the most vulnerable, the environment, use of force and disarmament, emphasising the relevance of law in Brazilian diplomacy and the country's historical responsibility in promoting a just international order.
The result of an academic collaboration between FUNAG and the University of São Paulo, the publication can be obtained free of charge from FUNAG's digital library.
