FUNAG launches book about Brazilian diplomacy and neocolonialism in Africa
No festim dos lobos: O Império do Brasil e o neocolonialismo na África Centro-Ocidental (1880-1885) [In the Feast of the Wolves: The Brazilian Empire and Neocolonialism in West-Central Africa (1880-1885)], by Frederico Antonio Ferreira, is FUNAG’s latest release. In this book, the author analyses Brazil-Africa relations in the 19th century from the perspective of Brazilian diplomacy, linking European colonialism, the Berlin Conference and the interests of the Brazilian monarchy, such as European immigration, and highlighting the role of the African continent in the international relations during that period.
The book is available free of charge from FUNAG's digital library. The printed version can be purchased from the official online store.
