FUNAG launches book about Brazil-Spain relations and human rights
The Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation has just launched Caminhos que se cruzam: as relações entre Brasil e Espanha (1936-1960) [Paths that Cross: Relations between Brazil and Spain (1936-1960)], by professor and researcher Ismara Izepe de Souza.
Based on extensive documentation, the book analyses not only the effects of Spanish Civil War and the World War II, but also offers an in-depth reflection on Brazil’s role on the international stage over time.
The author emphasises human rights as a central theme, promoting a refletion on contemporary challenges based on an understanding of the past. The book is a relevant contribution for scholars of international relations, history and foreign policy.
