Velas LatinoAmerica 2022

The Brazilian Navy organizes Velas LatinoAmerica 2022, a major international event with tall ships from Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay. Starting today, in Rio de Janeiro, the tall ships will sail through the seas of South America and the Caribbean.

The Brazilian Navy’s Sail Training tall ship Cisne Branco, a class A full-rigged ship, was launched in 2000 for the 500th anniversary of the discovery of Brazil. As we now prepare to celebrate the bicentennial of Brazil’s Independence, this year’s regatta gains special meaning.
