To mark 200 days until the bicentennial of Brazilian independence, the Brazil Pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai joined the Vale Música Program to present a fascinating musical performance by the Brazilian Youth Orchestra at the Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre.

The Brazilian Youth Orchestra is a sociocultural project that gives children and youths the opportunity to take music classes and become professional musicians. It is sponsored by the Vale mining company and the Amazonia Foundation.

The Brazilian Youth Orchestra includes students from Vale Música Belém, Vale Música Serra, Vale Música Brumadinho and Moinho Cultural projects. The young musicians combine enchanting images of Brazilian landscapes with classical melodies and samba rhythms.

The orchestra played to a backdrop of visuals from Brazilian nature, such as the Caatinga, the Pantanal, the Amazon and the Atlantic Rainforest, opening the concert with “O Trenzinho do Caipira” by Heitor Villa-Lobos, and closing with Ary Barroso’s well-known “Aquarela do Brasil”.

By the end of February, as ExpoDubai celebrates more than 15 million visits, the Brazilian pavilion remains one of the most toured amongst 192 other countries represented in the park, beautifully promoting Brazil’s image, culture, technology, commerce, agribusiness and tourism.
