The Brazilian government has just broken another record: in its first edition of the year, PROUNI - a university scholarship program - had the highest number of offers in its history; 273,001 scholarships.

Of the 273,001 scholarships, 181,036 are full and 91,965 are partial. More than 1,000 higher education institutions in Brazil have joined the program.
Full scholarships are intended for candidates who can prove gross monthly family income, per person, of up to one and a half minimum wage. For partial scholarships, the gross monthly family income must be up to three minimum wages per person. Ministério da Educação - MEC
