Green economy, technology, and sustainability; with these keywords, the Brazilian government and our National Development Bank (BNDES) signed a technical cooperation agreement on low carbon cattle farming.

The initiative will support studies for the adoption of incentive mechanisms to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the production of genres in which Brazil stands out worldwide: meat and milk.

The study will develop a life cycle analysis calculator that will assist in the measurement and certification of carbon emissions, as well as mechanisms that stimulate strategies and business models focused on investments in low carbon technologies.

This action by the federal government is also relevant to the fulfillment of the so-called Methane Agreement, signed at COP26 and which established the global commitment to cut methane emissions by 30% by 2030.
