Brazil celebrates International Women's Day today as the government remembers the policies created and promoted to respond to specific needs and demands from Brazilian Women in all areas, from health to education, from public safety to economic opportunity.

In 2021 alone, the Federal Government transferred about R$236 billion for actions aimed at women. Of the total amount, R$60 million were invested exclusively by the Ministry of Women, Family and Human Rights (MMFDH) to protect and promote women rights.

Health policies aimed at women received the largest share (R$103.5 billion), followed by social protection (R$85 billion) and education (R$39 billion). There are 79 actions to promote women's rights, including policies to eradicate violence against women (R$670 million).

All those policies are part of the strategy developed by the Government to help Brazilian women achieve a safe, dignified life, with real opportunities of social mobility and economic prosperity, through health, education, training social protection, awareness and public safety.
