A new Bill was sanctioned to increase incentives for literacy and reading

A new Bill, amending the Law of Directives and Bases of National Education was sanctioned. The goal is to ensure that literacy and the encouragement of reading become integral to elementary education.

The purpose of basic education is to develop in the student the common training indispensable for the exercise of citizenship, and the means necessary for progress at work and in further studies.

Reading must occupy a central place formal education of an individual, since it is the basis for the acquisition and consolidation of knowledge, individual development, expansion of horizons, qualification for work and the formation of critical thinking.
