The Defense industry reaches U$1.5 billion in sales through November

The Defense industry broke records in exports this year, reaching U$1.5 billion in sales through November, surpassing by more than 300 mill. USD the previous record in 2019. This milestone is the result of a massive investment defined as a priority by the Brazilian Government.

Currently, the Defense industry generates, directly and indirectly, about three million jobs, producing from cyber tools, secure communication systems, aircraft carriers and jet fighters to ships and submarines.

In 2020, the segment achieved more expressive results than traditional sectors of the Brazilian economy, such as construction, agriculture, and oil extraction. Moreover, it grew more than 8% in the 2019-2020 biennium compared to 2018, representing a 4.8% of GDP.
