LIGEM.Redes Work Plan
The LIGEM.Redes work plan encompasses a wide range of activities and deliverables, including: establishing national and international partnerships; institutional coordination; scientific exchange; supervision and co-supervision of dissertations and theses; postdoctoral programs; academic dialogues; seminars; summer schools; training and capacity-building programs; fundraising; joint projects; scientific publications; development of methodological and analytical frameworks; as well as the creation of decision-support and geointelligence tools and solutions, among others.
Expected Impacts
Scientific Impact
- Delivery of 16 training and capacity-building courses in geointelligence, geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing and image modeling, criminal analysis and evidence-based criminology, organized crime, environmental crimes and illicit activities, transnational illicit supply networks, programming languages, artificial intelligence, introduction to high-performance computing, situational awareness, economic impact assessment, and Power BI.
- Series of Working Papers.
- Symposium on Network Modeling of Organized Crime and Symposium on Remote Sensing.
- Internal seminars at Censipam.
- Participation of researchers in national and international scientific events.
Technological Impact
- Integrated System for Detection, Mapping, Monitoring, Modeling, and Impact Assessment of Illicit Networks.
Economic Impact.
- Development of a laboratory dedicated to introducing scientific methods and enhancing support for governmental decision-making processes.
- Expansion of external scientific funding for Censipam, strengthening its management and decision-making structures.
Environmental Impact
- Creation of a semi-automated method to estimate illegal mining areas, incorporating satellite imagery and machine learning algorithms.
Social Impact
- Implementation of social sensing to better understand the relationship between illicit activities and sustainable development in the region.
- Development of a dual statistical system on poverty in the Amazon, integrating satellite imagery and reducing the costs associated with obtaining socioeconomic indicators.
