Tariff Sandboxes

Tariff Sandboxes are projects designed to experiment with new tariff structures or billing methods in response to the current need to modernise tariffs, particularly for consumers supplied at Low Voltage level. Sandboxes operate within a controlled environment that allows for appropriate monitoring and effective use of the results. Changes in electricity distribution systems, new technologies, and shifts in consumer behaviour have created the need to better understand electricity users’ behaviour and update the tariff model. The implementation of Sandboxes represents an excellent opportunity for learning and exchange of experience among distribution companies, consumers, and sectoral regulators.
