Singapore Opens Market to Brazilian Agricultural Product
The Brazilian government has received confirmation from Singapore’s sanitary authorities authorizing the import of beef tallow for industrial use, including in the production of biofuels.
In 2024, Singapore imported more than USD 680 million in agricultural products from Brazil. Leading exports included meats, products from the sugar-energy complex, and other animal-based goods.
This new market access further strengthens trade relations with Singapore, an important logistics and financial hub in Asia. The country has a growing demand for inputs for renewable energy production, an area in which Brazil stands out for its ability to supply raw materials competitively and sustainably.
With this announcement, Brazilian agribusiness has achieved 435 new market openings since 2023, spanning 72 destinations.
These achievements are the result of joint efforts by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
