New agricultural market access for Brazil in Peru and Turkey
The Brazilian government is pleased to announce recent sanitary approvals granting access to new agricultural markets in Peru and Turkey.
Peruvian sanitary authorities have authorized Brazil to export hydrolyzed poultry protein, a high-nutritional-value ingredient used in animal feed production. In 2024, Brazil expanded into ten new agricultural markets in Peru, including yerba mate, cassava meal, hay, coconut fiber, and apples. These approvals are expected to strengthen and diversify trade flows between the two countries. From January to November 2024, Brazil exported USD 683 million worth of agricultural products to Peru.
In Turkey, local sanitary authorities have approved the export of mucopolysaccharides, an animal-derived compound widely used in the pharmaceutical industry. In 2023, Brazil exported USD 2.4 billion in agricultural products to Turkey, with the soybean complex, textiles, and coffee leading the way. By November 2024, Brazilian agricultural exports to Turkey had already surpassed USD 2.9 billion.
With these developments, Brazil has achieved access to 224 new markets in 2024, totaling 302 new business opportunities since the beginning of 2023.
These achievements result from the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
