Market access in Canada

The Brazilian government is pleased to announce Canada’s approval of the international sanitary certificate model, allowing Brazil to export bird feathers to the Canadian market.

This product serves a variety of industrial purposes, including the manufacture of pillows, cushions, bedding, and upholstery. Additionally, bird feathers are used as raw materials for thermal and acoustic insulation products, significantly broadening the market for Brazilian poultry-related goods.

This milestone also strengthens trade relations with Canada, which imported over USD 964 million worth of agricultural products from Brazil in the first ten months of 2024.

With this approval, Brazilian agribusiness has successfully secured access to 207 new markets this year, totaling 285 new business opportunities across 62 countries since early 2023.

These achievements result from the joint efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
