Brazilian Agribusiness Exports Reach USD 14.29 Billion in August
Brazilian agribusiness exports reached USD 14.29 billion in August 2025, up 1.5% compared to the same month last year. The result was driven by a 5.1% increase in shipped volume, which offset a 3.4% drop in average international prices.
Soybeans, fresh beef, and corn were the main drivers of growth. Soybean shipments totaled 9.3 million tons (+16.2%), generating USD 3.88 billion in revenue (+11%). Fresh beef exports reached 268,000 tons (+23.5%), with sales of USD 1.5 billion (+56%). Corn exports totaled 6.8 million tons (+12.9%), generating USD 1.36 billion (+17%).
In addition to these traditional products, several other items achieved record performances in August, underscoring the country’s strategy of diversifying its export portfolio. Bovine tallow exports reached 64,700 tons (+17.2%), worth USD 74.1 million (+36.4%)—the highest ever for the month. Oilseed seeds (excluding soybeans) totaled 68,500 tons (+10%), with revenues of USD 71.3 million (+16.5%), also a record. Bean exports stood at 58,400 tons (+29%), generating USD 49.5 million (+27.5%). Pet food exports hit a monthly record of USD 35.9 million, up 22.6% year-on-year. Peanut oil was another standout, soaring from 2,900 tons in August 2024 to 13,300 tons in 2025 (+358%), with revenues rising from USD 3 million to USD 20 million (+573.4%).
Expanding Markets and Global Reach
China remained Brazil’s largest buyer, importing USD 5.12 billion in agribusiness products (+32.9%), accounting for 35.8% of the sector’s exports. The European Union followed with USD 1.9 billion.
Among fast-growing destinations, Mexico stood out with USD 339 million, nearly doubling imports compared to August 2024 (+91.9%), led by meat purchases. Egypt also expanded imports, reaching USD 342 million (+14%), driven by corn. In Asia, exports to India (+37.3%) and Thailand (+9.5%) also grew significantly.
These results reflect the market-opening and diversification strategy led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock. In August alone, Brazil secured access to 22 new international markets, bringing the total number of destinations from 58 in August 2024 to 72 today. This expansion is directly linked to the 55 international trade and promotion missions carried out in 2025, which have opened new opportunities for a wide range of production chains.
