Brazil showcases agribusiness potential at WOFEX Drinks & Bakes in the Philippines
In a strategic move to expand its presence in Southeast Asia, Brazil took part in the WOFEX Drinks & Bakes trade fair, held in Manila from March 27 to 29. Organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) in partnership with the Brazilian Embassy in the Philippines, the initiative highlighted Brazil’s growing role in the global agribusiness landscape.
Aimed at professionals in the beverage, bakery, and confectionery industries, the event featured technical seminars, specialized competitions, and networking spaces that brought together producers, buyers, and commercial representatives from across the globe.
The Brazil Pavilion was officially opened by Mapa’s Secretary of Trade and International Relations, Luís Rua, alongside Brazil’s Ambassador to the Philippines, Gilberto de Moura, and Agricultural Attaché Virginia Carpi. The stand spotlighted the quality and variety of Brazilian products, with companies presenting a rich portfolio that included açaí, coffee, yerba mate, teas, cocoa spirits, and pasteurized liquid and powdered eggs—products especially suited for the confectionery industry.
The Brazilian exhibit drew significant interest, with a steady flow of visitors throughout the event, underscoring the growing demand for Brazilian agricultural goods and creating new opportunities for trade expansion in Southeast Asia.
Brazil’s participation in WOFEX Drinks & Bakes is part of the federal government’s broader strategy to diversify export markets and enhance the country’s presence at international trade fairs.
