Brazil Secures New Market for Agricultural Products in Indonesia
New Market for Agricultural Products in Indonesia
The Brazilian government has obtained approval from Indonesian sanitary authorities for International Zoosanitary Certificate models, paving the way for exports of bovine semen and embryos to Indonesia.
This market access creates a significant opportunity for Brazil’s livestock sector, globally recognized for its superior genetics, stringent sanitary standards, and cutting-edge animal reproduction biotechnologies. By exporting genetic material, Brazil supports Indonesia in enhancing its cattle herd, boosting local productivity, and reducing reliance on live animal imports, while fostering new business prospects for Brazilian companies.
As the world’s fourth most populous nation, with over 270 million people, Indonesia is experiencing rising demand for animal proteins and is investing heavily in genetic improvement to meet its growing domestic needs. Brazil emerges as a trusted partner, delivering high-quality, innovative solutions to support Indonesia’s agricultural ambitions.
With this milestone, Brazilian agribusiness marks its 428th market opening since the start of 2023.
This success reflects the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) in advancing Brazil’s global agribusiness leadership.
