Brazil secures new market access in the EAEU for cocoa beans

The Brazilian government is pleased to announce new market access for cocoa bean exports to the five member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) — Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

This marks yet another commercial breakthrough in the EAEU. Earlier this year, Brazil gained approval to export live pigs, bovine semen and embryos (both “in vivo” and “in vitro”), as well as live breeding and production cattle to member nations.

During the first eight months of 2024, Brazil exported more than USD 865 million in agricultural products to the EAEU, with key exports including soybeans, beef, green coffee, and raw sugar.

With these five new market announcements, Brazil has reached its 175th market access this year and 253 new market openings across 60 destinations since the beginning of 2023.

These achievements are the result of joint efforts between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
