Brazil secures new market access in Qatar for goat and sheep meat exports

The Brazilian government is pleased to announce it has secured market access in Qatar for the export of goat and sheep meat, following the approval of the International Sanitary Certificate.

From January to September 2024, Brazil exported around USD 200 million in agricultural products to Qatar, with approximately 90% of this total consisting of animal proteins, particularly poultry and beef.

The addition of Brazilian goat and sheep meat, which has been gaining prominence in international markets, is expected to further diversify the bilateral trade portfolio with Qatar.

With these new developments, Brazilian agribusiness has achieved its 182nd market access this year, totaling 260 new opportunities across 61 destinations since the start of 2023.

These accomplishments are the result of collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
