Brazil secures new agricultural market access in South Korea and Guatemala
The Brazilian government announces that South Korea and Guatemala have authorized the import of additional Brazilian agricultural products.
In South Korea, authorities have approved the import of Brazilian sesame seeds, further strengthening trade ties between the two nations. South Korea is a key destination for Brazilian agricultural exports, importing over USD 2.85 billion worth of products in 2024, with grains, meat, and oilseeds leading the sector. This approval expands Brazil’s presence in the South Korean market and enhances export diversification.
In Guatemala, sanitary authorities have confirmed that Brazilian exporters of gelatin and collagen meet the country’s regulatory requirements. This authorization reinforces the trade partnership between Brazil and Guatemala, opening new opportunities for Brazil’s food and pharmaceutical ingredient industries. In 2024, Brazil exported USD 248.9 million in agricultural products to Guatemala, with forestry products, grains, and oilseeds among the top exports.
With these latest approvals, Brazilian agribusiness has now secured 317 new market access opportunities since 2023, further diversifying exports and strengthening Brazil’s position as a global leader in food and agricultural supply.
These achievements result from the joint efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
