Brazil gains market access for fish exports to Australia

The Brazilian government welcomes the approval by Australian sanitary authorities for the import of wild-caught fish from Brazil.

This new market access represents a strategic opportunity for Brazilian exporters, particularly for high-value species such as tuna, hake, lobster, and croaker. In 2024, Brazil exported more than USD 400 million in fish and seafood products.

With this authorization, Brazilian agribusiness has secured its 57th new market opening in 2025, bringing the total to 357 new business opportunities in 63 countries since the beginning of 2023.

This achievement is the result of coordinated efforts by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), and the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture (MPA).
