Brazil gains approval to export mate herb to the Eurasian Economic Union

The Brazilian government is pleased to announce it has gained market access for mate herb exports to the five member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) — Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

This is yet another market access in the EAEU for Brazilian agricultural products. Earlier this year, Brazil gained approval to export cocoa beans, live pigs, bovine semen and embryos (both "in vivo" and "in vitro"), as well as live breeding and production cattle to the Union.

In the first nine months of 2024, Brazil exported over USD 1 billion in agricultural products to the EAEU, with notable exports such as soybeans, beef, coffee, and sugar.

With these recent announcements, Brazil has now secured its 180th market access this year, totaling 258 new opportunities across 60 destinations since early 2023.

These accomplishments are the result of joint efforts between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
