Brazil celebrates second market access in Costa Rica in 2024

The Brazilian government has announced that Costa Rica has authorized the export of live horses from Brazil.

This new market access will enhance trade between the two countries, reflecting international confidence in Brazil's sanitary control system.

Costa Rica is a significant destination for Brazilian agricultural products. The main items exported include cereals, flour and preparations, forestry products, and soy complex products. In 2023, Brazil's agricultural exports to Costa Rica reached $272 million. In the first half of 2024, they amounted to $153 million.

In February, Brazil also gained access to the Costa Rican market for the export of mesenchymal stem cell-based products from dogs, cats, and horses for therapeutic purposes.

These achievements result from the joint efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
