Anvisa and Dinavisa sign cooperation agreement to enhance surveillance and the safety of health products and medicines
Highlights of the new Memorandum of Understanding include health control proceedings, as well as the prevention of and the fight against counterfeit products

The Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (Anvisa) and Paraguay’s National Directorate of Health Surveillance (Dinavisa) signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) this Thursday (August 20) to strengthen institutional cooperation between the two health authorities.
Strengthening cooperation on inspection and health control activities aims at preventing and combating counterfeiting and illicit circulation of products under health surveillance. Those actions represent the key advancement conceived in the partnership.
According to Anvisa CEO Leandro Safatle, the agreement fosters the implementation of joint actions focused on binational health safety. "Regulatory alignment among countries in the region is a crucial step toward enhancing inspection efforts," Safatle stated.
Meanwhile, Jorge Iliou Silvero, Interim National Director of Dinavisa, noted that "both countries share common challenges in protecting public health". Silvero also highlighted that the partnership enhances regulatory reliance, convergence, and the adoption of good regulatory practices.
The new instrument expands the previously signed agreement by both institutions, solidifying a joint commitment to strengthen health surveillance systems and facilitate the exchange of experience, information, and good regulatory practices.
