On Sunday, November 17, in Rio de Janeiro, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva met with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. The meeting focused on the agreement between the European Union and Mercosur.
Also participating in the meeting were the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mauro Vieira; the Special Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic, Celso Amorim; and the Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Development and Industry, Márcio Elias Rosa.
