Meeting between President Lula and the chairman of CCCC, Wang Tongzhou

President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, met this Thursday (April 13th) in Shanghai with China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) chairman, Wang Tongzhou. The largest construction company in China, CCCC invests in infrastructure projects in Brazil, such as the construction of Salvador-Itaparica bridge in Bahia.

At the meeting, where Brazilian ministers of state and governors were also present, the CCCC President expressed his desire to increase cooperation between Brazilian and Chinese companies. Wang Tongzhou also proposed the creation of direct exchange mechanisms between the Yuan (Chinese currency) and the Real to facilitate financial transactions between the two countries.
