The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Itamaraty), in Brasília, also provides an emergency hotline for Brazilians abroad in REAL emergency situations, when for some reason they cannot reach the local consular duty officer. The number is +55 61 98260-0610.

Public service hours are from 08:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and from 08:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Fridays, by electronic appointment.
