São Paulo Innovation Week 2026
The São Paulo Innovation Week (SPIW) will be held in the city of São Paulo from 13th to 15th May 2026, one the main international gatherings dedicated to innovation, technology, entrepreneurship and inward investment attraction in Brazil.
The event will bring together governments, businesses, startups, investors, research centres and innovation environments focusing on the promotion of international partnerships, businesses and exchange of technological solutions.
International Preparatory Webinar
In the context of the preparations, the Science Technology and Innovation Division (‘DCTEC’) in partnership with organisers of the SPIW, will hold an exploratory webinar for:
- Innovation hubs and ecosystems,
- Technological parks and incubators,
- Investment attraction agencies, and
- Institutions which promote internationalisation.

The aim of the webinar meeting is to present the proposal creating the Innovation Diplomacy Space (‘Espaço Diplomacia da Inovação’) at the SPIW as well to provide details about opportunities for international participation.

Types of international participation
Innovation Diplomacy Space — institutional stands
A specially dedicated pavilion will be set up for international cooperation in innovation.
- Availability of twenty free stands
- The stands are for foreign representatives:
- Innovation hubs and environments
- Investment attraction agencies
- Internationalisation bodies
- Participants must be named by the Science, Technology and Innovation Sections (SECTECs) to the Science Technology and Innovation Division (‘DCTEC’) by 10th March 2026
- Announcement of the participating shortlist: 13th March 2026
- There will be no expense allowance for the shortlisted participants
This space aims at promoting high quality networking, technological partnerships and institutional visibility.
Participation in the ‘Innovation Diplomacy’ trail
Foreign representatives may apply for presentation spaces in the official programme.
The thematic trail will comprise the following:
- Institutional presentations of countries and innovation ecosystems,
- Investment opportunities and internationalisation,
- Best practice and public policies, and
- Lectures and panels about the innovation Diplomacy Programme (‘Programa Diplomacia da Inovação, PDI’).
The selection of proposals will depend upon the following:
- Thematic compliance,
- Availability within the agenda, and
- Joint evaluation by SPIW and the Science Technology and Innovation Division (‘DCTEC’).
PARTICIPATION OF FOREIGN STARTUPS AND BUSINESSES
There is also a specific process for innovation businesses named by the Science Technology and Innovation Sections (‘SECTECs’).
Priority Criteria:
Solutions which present evidence of objective experience available to the public will be given preference, such as:
- Physical or digital functional prototypes,
- Interactive demonstrations,
- Technologies with visual impact, and
- Testable sensorial experiences.
The proposal must clearly indicate how visitors will be able to:
- see,
- test, and
- interact with the solution.
In addition, the following will be taken into account:
- technological maturity,
- logistics feasibility, and
- alignment with the themes of the SPIW 2026.
Application Process
- Direct applications by businesses by filling in the online form (https://forms.gle/1WKpaCY7VjKyGy167),
- Initial assessment by the relevant the Science Technology and Innovation Sections (‘SECTECs’),
- Final shortlist announced by the SPIW technical team, and
- Official announcement to participants in accordance with the schedule.
