 HOW TO APPLY FOR A VISA:

Follow the steps below:

1° Access the E-CONSULAR platform: https://ec-estocolmo.itamaraty.gov.br/

2° Register with your email and password.

3° Choose the service "BRAZILIAN VISA" and follow the instructions to the end. You will need to upload some documents and forms again. These images can be scanned or taken with your cell phone camera. (Please note that the documents need to be legible).

4° After filling in everything and uploading the required documents, click "Confirm and send". The documents will be reviewed by the Consular Section of the Embassy. If everything is correct, the applicant will receive a confirmation email.

5° After validation by the Consular Section, log back into the E-CONSULAR platform to schedule the day of your in-person appointment or choose to send it by POST. On the day of the appointment, bring all the ORIGINAL documents and forms. (Do not forget to provide your email and contact phone number when submitting the necessary documentation).

The validation/scheduling period is on average 5 working days after the receipt of the correct documents.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

1. The purpose of the trip and the intended length of stay determine which visa will be required under Brazilian immigration law. There are two main types of visas: Visitor Visas (VIVIS) and Temporary Visas (VITEM).
   
   
2. As shown in the table of contents below, a VIVIS applies to a range of travel purposes for maximum stays of up to 90 days. For some of these purposes, if the intended stay exceeds 90 days, a VITEM must be requested. Temporary Visas are broken down into sub-categories (VITEM I to VITEM XIV), according to specific travel purposes and lengths of stay.
   
   
3. VITEM holders must register with the Federal Police within 90 days from first entry. Upon registration, the individual will have to present a document containing both parents’ full names (e.g. full birth certificate/personbevis fullform), which must be duly apostilled by the competent authority in the issuing country (Notarius Públicus in Sweden) and subsequently translated into Portuguese by a sworn translator ("tradutor juramentado") in Brazil. Swedish documents must be APOSTILLED by the Notarius Públicus in Sweden.
   
   
4. Passports must be valid for the entire period the individual intends to remain in Brazil. 
   
   
5. Visa applicants must meet all requirements to receive the category of visa for which they are applying. The Consulate may request additional information or documentation, as deemed necessary.
