VIVIS - VISIT AND BUSINESS VISA
VISIT AND BUSINESS VISA
The Visit Visa (VIVIS) may be granted to foreign visitors traveling to Brazil for tourism or business purposes, for a stay of up to 90 days, without the intention of establishing residence.
🔹 IMPORTANT INFORMATION
a) A VIVIS may be requested for tourism, business, or other purposes, such as auditing or consulting services; artistic or sports activities; medical treatment; study or research (including academic exchange, teaching, learning, and supervised internships); volunteer work; and media coverage, filming, or reporting.
b) VIVIS holders are strictly forbidden to practise any paid work in Brazil, but are allowed to receive payments for the purposes of daily allowances, artistic paychecks, compensation or travel expenses, as well as to receive cash prizes in sports, artistic or cultural competitions.
c) From the moment the Consular Section receives all required documentation and confirms that the process will begin, the standard processing time for a VIVIS is 45 working days. However, due to the high demand for consular services and visas, processing times may be subject to significant delays. The Embassy strongly recommends that all applicants submit their applications well in advance. Please note that visa fees are non-refundable. Applicants planning to apply close to their travel date are kindly requested to contact consular.doha@itamaraty.gov.br before paying the consular fee.
d) Incomplete applications may result in the visa being denied. It is the applicant’s responsibility to read this page carefully and verify the visa requirements before applying.
e) TRANSIT VISAS: We do not issue visas specifically for transit purposes. However, a Visit Visa (VIVIS) may be granted to travelers who need to enter Brazil to reach their final destination, if required. The same general rules apply in such cases, and additional documentation may be requested. Please note that the process will not be expedited, so applicants are advised to carefully review all the instructions on this page before applying.
