INVESTMENT VISA - VITEM IX
The Investment Visa (VITEM IX) is available to foreign nationals who wish to invest in Brazil, whether as individual investors, entrepreneurs, or authorized company representatives. This visa is designed to support foreign investment with the potential to create employment, stimulate innovation, or contribute to Brazil’s economic development.
⚠️ All applicants must first obtain prior residence authorization from the Ministry of Justice and Public Security of Brazil before submitting their visa request. Approval from the Ministry of Justice and Public Security of Brazil does not mean automatic approval of your visa. You must submit your VITEM IX application following all the instructions below.

📌 APPLICATION PROCESS

Apply for residence authorization through the Brazilian Ministry of Justice and Public Security.

Once approved, the Ministry will forward the authorization directly to the Consulate.

With the authorization received and all documents for a VITEM IX gathered, submit your visa application to: consular.doha@itamaraty.gov.br. The Consular Section will check your documents and the authorization from the Ministry.
The VITEM IX is available for:
a) Corporate Investment Representatives: Executives, directors, managers, or administrators with legal authority to represent a civil or commercial company, business group, or conglomerate that is making a foreign investment in a Brazilian company. The investment must demonstrate potential for job creation or income generation in Brazil. (Based on Normative Resolution RN 11/2017 – CNIg)
b) Individual Entrepreneurs / Startup Investors: Individuals using their own foreign funds to invest in a Brazilian business or to develop innovative, scientific, or technological projects with potential for economic impact. (Based on Normative Resolution RN 13/2017 – CNIg)
c) Real Estate Investors: Individuals investing their own foreign capital in real estate in Brazil. The minimum property investment must be BRL 700,000 in the North or Northeast regions, or BRL 1,000,000 in all other regions of the country. (Based on Normative Resolution RN 36/2018 – CNIg)
📌 HOW TO APPLY:
1) Send the following documents to consular.doha@itamaraty.gov.br:
a) Approved residence authorization issued by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (Brazil);
b) VISA Request Form Receipt (RER);
c) Passport-sized photo (3x4 cm), color, with a light background;
d) Valid passport copy (minimum of two blank pages);
e) Qatar ID (QID);
f) Flight reservation;
g) Hotel booking or other accommodation proof;
h) Bank statements from the past 3 months;
i) Criminal background certificate issued by the applicant's country of nationality and any other countries of residence in the past 12 months;
j) Birth certificate (or official document showing full names of both parents);
k) proof of visa fee payment.
→ Additional documents may be requested depending on the applicant’s case.
📬 The applicant will receive an email confirming receipt of the application and the status of their request. To avoid delays, it is best for applicants to send all necessary documentation at once.

Examples: “Ana Santos - Passport,” “Pedro Silva - Power of Attorney.”
→ A third party may make payment, provided that the receipt contains at least the name of the applicant for the service.
