Welcome to the Consular Section of the Brazilian Embassy in Baghdad
The Consular Section of the Embassy provides assistance, issues documents and performs notarial acts to Brazilian citizens residents or transit in Iraq. It also provides information and grants visas to Iraqi and other countries’ citizens wishing to go to Brazil. It also performs notarial acts to Iraqi citizens within the limits established by Brazilian legislation, the Iraqi legislation and the relevant international agreements.
In this section you will find information about several consular services provided by the Brazilian Embassy in Baghdad and will have access to explanations of each. The forms for each service are also available. Just access them, fill in the blanks, print, sign and bring them to the Embassy, along with other required documents for each service. These forms can also be obtained and fulfilled at the Embassy.
There are a wide range of consular services whose instructions are not explained in this webpage. If you need any service not listed in the site, do not hesitate to contact us during office hours. You can also obtain further information at the Portal Consular –www.portalconsular.mre.gov.br.

Opening hours:
By appointment, from Monday to Thursday, from 9AM to 14PM.
The Consular Section closes on 7 September (Brazil’s National Independence Day) and on official Iraq holidays.
Emergency Assistance
In the event of an emergency (including accidents, arrests, or deaths), the Consular Section of the Embassy has a consular assistant on duty at all times, including weekends and holidays, who can be reached on +964 780 929 1396.
Please note that the Consular Representative on Duty is not authorized to provide information on routine consular services and should not be called upon except in the event of an emergency.
Any issue relating to the arrest or death of a Brazilian Citizen must immediately be brought to attention of the Consular Section of the Embassy of Brazil in Baghdad.
