BRAZILIAN COMMUNITY IN JORDAN!
ELEMENTARY PORTUGUESE COURSE – 2026/1
The Embassy of Brazil in Amman, with the support of Guimarães Rosa Institute (IGR), has the honor to announce the initiative “RECOVERING PORTUGUESE WITH THE BRAZILIAN COMMUNITY IN JORDAN – MODULE I”.
DURATION, DATES AND TIMES
15 places will be offered for the “summer course” of basic Portuguese (A1 – first part), with weekly classes on Saturdays, from 9 am to 12:15 pm. The classes will start on April 4th (8 classes in all).
LOCATION AND ACCESS
Classes will take place at the Brazilian Embassy in Amman (https://www.gov.br/mre/pt-br/embaixada-ama/endereco).
Access to the Embassy will only be allowed for students who have been enrolled in the course (see topic “registration/enrollment” below. Accompanying guests will not be admitted.
COSTS
Classes will be free of charge.
ATTENDANCE
There will be attendance list during the course. In case of two consecutive absences or three absences throughout the course, the student's enrollment will be canceled.
CERTIFICATE
There will be no issuance of a certificate of completion of the course.
REGISTRATION/ENROLLMENT
Applications can be presented from the 14th to the 28th of March, through the email consular.ama@itamaraty.gov.br. Emails received after March 28th will not be considered.
In the subject of the email, it must be written the following sentence: Basic Portuguese Course (A1) – Registration.
Preference will be given to students who did not participate in the Portuguese course offered last year.
The body of the message must contain following data of the person who intends to take the course: full name, date of birth and consular registration number (by the Embassy of Brazil in Amman). Only Brazilians aged 15 or over and with consular registration (by the Brazilian Embassy in Amman) will have their registration admitted. In the case of minors, express authorization from the parents will be required.
If the number of applicants exceeds 15, a draw will be held at 9:30 am on April 1st at the consular section of the Brazilian Embassy in Amman.
On April 3rd, the names of 15 selected students to the course will be published on the embassy's Facebook page.
