VISA RECEIPT OF REQUEST SUBMISSION
(RER – Recibo de Entrega de Requerimento)

- Fill out the Visa Request Form
- You MUST upload ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS listed below
- Print the Visa Receipt of Request Submission (RER) and sign it in the designated box WITH PEN (digital signatures ARE NOT accepted).
- For minor applicants, both parents must sign the RER in the designated box.

ORIGINAL PASSPORT
|
- The passport must be valid for the entire period of stay, including the date of departure.
- It must have at least two blank pages

PROOF OF STATUS IN CANADA
|
- Non-Canadians must also provide proof of legal status in Canada, such as:
- a valid visa, admission stamp on the passport
- a valid study / work permit
- permanent resident card
- You MUST submit the ORIGINAL OR NOTARIZED copy of your proof of status document.

PROOF OF PARENTAGE
|
- BIRTH CERTIFICATE with parent’s full name; OR
- GOVERNMENT-ISSUED DOCUMENT with parent’s full name on it.
- If the document is not in Portuguese, English, Spanish, or French, it must be accompanied by a certified translation.

|
CRIMINAL RECORD
(except under 18 years old)
|
- RCMP Criminal Record (click here) OR Local Police Criminal Record.
- The Criminal Record MUST have been issued within the last 3 months.
|
|
PROOF OF FINANCIAL MEANS
|
- Proof of having been awarded a scholarship compatible with the intended stay expenses; OR
- It MUST always be provided. The following documents are accepted as proof of income:
- Bank Statements (the last 3 months immediately prior to your application)
- Paystubs from sponsor
- If your bank statements are from any country other than Canada or Brazil, they MUST be legalized or apostilled in order to be accepted. They must also be translated if provided in any language other than Portuguese, English, Spanish, or French.

PROOF OF RESIDENCE WITHIN THE CONSULAR JURISDICTION
|
- Photocopy of a valid Driver’s Licence; OR
- Utility bill from current month; OR
- Bank / Credit Card statement with name, address and issue date.
OBS: The jurisdiction of the Consulate General of Brazil in Toronto is limited to the provinces of ONTARIO and MANITOBA, as well as the territory of NUNAVUT.

VISA FOR MINORS
(under 18 years old)
|
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Visa request form signed by both parents.
- Authorization form to issue the visa to the minor, and the authorization form MUST be notarized.
- Valid photo I.D. of both parents
- Copy of child's long form birth certificate to verify parents' names
- If ANY of the parents is Brazilian, a declaration of non-citizenship . The signatures of both parents on the declaration of non-citizenship form MUST be notarized.
- NOTARIZED travel authorization from parents or legal guardians indicating who will be responsible for their child throughout their stay in Brazil.
OBS: If only one parent is signing the authorization, a copy of the document proving their legal authority to do so is required.
Examples include the second parent's death certificate, a court order granting sole custody and the right to issue travel documents, or a birth certificate indicating only one parent.

PROOF OF ENROLMENT AND ELIGIBILITY
|
- LANGUAGE AND OTHER TECHNICAL COURSES
- Proof of enrolment indicating duration and nature of studies, as well as the estimated number of class hours/week;
- Proof that institution is regularly registered for a "CNPJ"
- UNDERGRADUATE, GRADUATE OR POSTGRADUATE COURSES
- high school, college or university diploma;
- proof of acceptance by and enrolment in an institution regularly registered at the Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC);
- proof of having participated and been approved in the institution's public selection process
- EXCHANGE PROGRAMS
- proof of enrolment in a foreign teaching institution;
- proof of enrolment in a corresponding Brazilian teaching institution regularly registered at the Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC)
- GRADUATE STUDIES OR SPECIALIZATION IN THE MEDICAL FIELD
- proof that the applicant has finished medical school;
- proof of enrolment or letter of acceptance;
- document signed by those responsible for the course in Brazil stating that
- (i) the applicant will not practice medicine or medical actions in Brazil, except those required for the applicant's training, which must be practiced only in the institution to which the visitor is attached,
- (ii) that the preceptor is responsible for the visitor before the Regional Medical Council as per Art. 7, caput c/c §5º of Resolution no. 1832/2008 of the Federal Medical Council,
- (iii) that the preceptor is responsible for officially notifying the Regional Medical Council of the visitor's presence as per Art. 7 of said Resolution.

- Payment must be made by MONEY ORDER or BANK DRAFT payable to "Consulate General of Brazil"
- The fee for visitor visas is CAD $150.00 with the exception of the following:

- Canada Post prepaid envelope (registered, express or priority mail)
- The envelope must be self-addressed (on both fields “To” and “FROM” and have a tracking number
