Fabio Zanon
Fabio Zanon is one of the Brazilian artists with the highest international prestige.Winner of the two most prestigious international guitar competitions– the Francisco Tárrega Competition in Spain and the Guitar Foundation of America (GFA) Competition in the United States– in addition to the International Alessandria Competition in Italy, Fabio Zanon is widely acclaimed for his performances that combine artistic imagination, interpretative rigor, and a powerful sound.His work as a conductor, educator, and promoter of classical music has significantly contributed to placing the guitar within a broader cultural perspective.As a soloist, he has performed in over 50 countries in prestigious venues such as the Royal Festival Hall and Wigmore Hall in London; the Philharmonie in Berlin; and Weill Hall at Carnegie in New York.

In Japan, he gave a special performance for Her Majesty, Empress Michiko, in 2017.In 2021, he created the podcast Lira for IREE Cultura, dedicated to a wide range of topics related to music. He conceived, wrote, and presented about 200 programs for Rádio Cultura, including the series A Arte do Violão and O Violão Brasileiro, currently used as educational material in music teaching institutions.
Fabio began his studies with his father and later became a student of Antonio Guedes, Henrique Pinto, and Edelton Gloeden, the latter at the University of São Paulo. In 1990, he moved to London, where he studied with Michael Lewin at the Royal Academy of Music and also participated in masterclasses with Julian Bream and John Williams. He obtained a master's degree from the University of London. He is also the author of the book Folha Explica – Villa-Lobos and has a diverse discography, with releases on labels such as Musical Heritage, Decca, BIS, SOMM, and Naxos. Currently, his solo recordings are released exclusively by GuitarCoop.
