VITEM XIV - Migratory Policy
According to the Normative Resolutions Nos. 40/2019 and 45/2021 of the National Immigration Council (CNIg), a VITEM XIV may be issued to people who intend to go to Brazil in connection with: (i) the transfer of payments from foreign pension or social security schemes, arising out of retirement or survival/death benefits; or (ii) the status of a “Digital Nomad”, i.e., individuals who are able to remain active within their professional fields in a remote fashion, without working for or otherwise maintaining a formal labor relationship with any individual or legal entity residing or established in Brazil.
General requirements

| 2 | One recent photo; |
| 3 | Online application form (RER – Recibo de Entrega de Requerimento), printed out and signed by the applicant; ⚠️ For on-line application, access the following: https://formulario-mre.serpro.gov.br/. |
| 4 | Police clearance issued within the last 3 months, only if you are 18 years old or older; |
| 5 | * Copy of Birth Certificate, coupled with a translation thereof into English, signed by the translator (applicant may not be the translator); |
| 6 | * Copy of the Japan residence card (Zairyu Card); ⚠️ For non-Japanese nationals only. |
| 7 | Visa fee. |
REMARKS:
* The original document must be submitted together with a copy. The original document shall be returned to the applicant.
For recipients of payments from foreign pension or social security schemes, arising out of retirement or survival/death benefits:
| 8 | Health insurance in full force and effect, covering all of Brazil’s territory; |
| 9 | Document evidencing means of transportation into Brazil; |
| 10 | Proof of retirement or of being a recipient of survival/death benefits, as well as of the ability to monthly transfer to Brazil the amount of at least USD 2,000.00 or its equivalent in other currencies; |
| 11 | Proof of other sources of regular/monthly income in order to achieve the amount referred to in item “10”, above, if necessary. |
For “Digital Nomads”:
| 12 | Health insurance in full force and effect, covering all of Brazil’s territory; |
| 13 | Statement issued by the applicant, confirming her/his capacity to remain professionally active in a remote fashion, by means of information and telecommunication technologies; |
| 14 | Work or services agreement or any other agreement, exchange of letters or written instruments, evidencing a commercial or professional relationship with a foreign employer or client; |
| 15 | Proof of monthly income from a foreign party or origin, in an amount of at least USD 1,500.00 or, alternatively, availability of funds, in cash or cash equivalents, in an amount of at least USD 18,000.00. |
For people under 18 years old
All of the above-captioned documents, as applicable, as well as the following ones:

Signature of both parents (both father and mother or guardian) is required in the signature field of the application form. |
