What it is
- Diplomatic passport: Identification and travel document issued to diplomatic authorities or those working for the Brazilian government.
- Official passport: Identification and travel document issued to Brazilian government authorities and/or officials on official missions.
How to apply
- Fill in the electronic passport form (RER - Application Delivery Receipt):
- Access the website: formulario-autoridades.serpro.gov.br;
- Follow the instructions, and
- Print out and sign the RER.

Specific cases
Passports for children under 18
To apply for passports for dependents under the age of 18, you will need to submit:
- Authorization to grant a passport and travel for the minor, which must be signed by both parents before the consular officer.
⚠️ Previously signed authorization forms will not be accepted. - Brazilian identification documents for the parents, with photo (ID or passport).
💡 Dependent status must be proven by relative documentation.
